A Brief Overview of Valuable Research and What to Expect In 2021  

IAB Canada continues to work on delivering critical Canadian research reporting to the marketplace. In addition to our proprietary research studies, member organizations are consistently releasing excellent resources for our community to leverage, and our efforts to aggregate and organize these valuable assets continues into 2021. 

Following is a recap of the key reports released over the past few months as well as some exciting releases we have planned for the future.

Q1 2021 Update: 

*For resources released before 2020, visit the Knowledge Centre and browse the extensive database covering off virtually every topic on digital media. 

Looking Ahead in 2021

  • 2020 IAB Canada Ad Revenue Survey – a revitalized report capturing emerging metrics of great importance to the industry. 
  • 2021 Salary Survey – the IAB Canada salary survey has been updated for 2021 and is available at no charge to participants in the study. 
  • Location Based Advertising – barometer report that captures the state of LBA in Canada 2021. 
  • Annual IAB Canada 360 Survey – provides subscribers with accurate and customized benchmarking on qualitative traits that drive sales in the Canadian media buying community. 
  • IAB Canada’s Report on Data – our annual event that features the latest Canadian reporting on hot industry trends and features the 2021 Canadian Media Usage Trends (CMUST) 

Partner Research: 

  • Quarterly Advertising Spend Benchmarking Report – a new partnership with SMI that provides IAB Canada members with quarterly updates on formats, platforms and category expenditure. 
  • The Omnichannel Grocery Shopper with Time+Space Media – an interesting study that looks at the long-term trends in eCommerce and grocery. 
  • Several IAB Canada’s Barometer Studies are available for download. These studies continue throughout the year and provide valuable insights into the local industry on key topic areas.
